English-Version, Please read this before posting (die deutsche Version gibt’s etwas weiter unten):

EDIT: I'll take the liberty of rephrasing some questions. Not content-wise, but grammar-wise and stuff like that. I hope that's ok with everyone. (if not: post in here and I won't alter your question at all. -of course that is, if the question gets asked)

Hello State Radio-community,

on September 28th State Radio will play a show in Cologne, Germany. For that day ‘Patchmusic’ is planning an interview with the band. But this won’t be an usual interview. And here’s where you, the State Radio-fan, comes in! The interview is supposed to contain mainly fan-questions! Questions that you ask and that you get credit for.

If you want to ask the guys a question, here’s how it works:

1. Post your question(s) in this thread.
2. Please feature your name and location in your post, so I can include these information before I ask your question and the band knows where it’s coming from.
3. Of course you can ask multiple questions, but I would say the question-limit is at three questions per fan. (I’ll see how this whole thing goes and then either restrict the question-limit more or less or leave it at three, I’ll see and it depends on your amount of questions)

Some technicalities:

1. Sorry, but I can’t guarantee that every question that will be posted here, will actually be asked during the interview. Lengths of such interviews are subjects to change and I’ll have to make some cuts to make things fit. If your question does not get asked I apologize, but I’ll do my best to ask as many of your questions as possible.
2. The deadline to ask questions is 09/25/2007
3. We plan on filming the whole interview!
4. I’m looking forward to read your responses/questions!

-Sascha

Deutsche-Version:

Liebe State Radio-Community,

State Radio geben am 28.

1. Postet eure Frage(n) hier in diesem Thread.

4. Bin auf eure Fragen gespannt!

-Sascha

Justin, from Texas

- this is a question for all 3 guys -
There is a legend surrounding Robert Johnson, the proclaimed king of the delta blues, that says that he sold his soul to the devil in exchange for mad guitar skills.  Hypothetically speaking, if you could sell your soul to the devil, what would it be in exchange for?

@ Justin: I'd like to have the devils soul in exchange...  Wink

Matthias, from Aurich

1. Wich song is to "holy" to cover it?
2. Who would be the most perfect partner for a duet? Robert Plant, Kurt Cobain or Bob Marley?
3. When will there be a live dvd from state radio?

ok, mir sind spontan keine besseren fragen eingefallen...
Wink

schönen Tag noch!

Justin from Texas

1) For Mike: Can you play any instrument besides the drums? And if so have you ever asked Chad to let you play it on a song or two? (don't ask that second question unless he says yes)

2) For Chuck: Has anyone ever told you that you resemble Luke Wilson?
(wait for his response then ask)
Really though, if you could have a bass jam-session with any one bassist who would it be?

3) For all: Have you guys ever thought about changing up your set for a song or two such as having Chuck play guitar, Mike be lead vocals, and Chad on bass and backup vocals?

When will Uncertain come back (how about for the Boston show)? Since you've tagged a few covers onto your songs, like Bullet in the Head and Zombie, have you ever considered doing a full cover of a song (Time Served aside)? Will we get to hear Mansin Humanity on the next record? Why has Hopeless Tender never been performed? It's a great song and I'd love to see it. Chad, for the next Dispatch gig, could you guys play East the Police? They were great shows.

Matt from Connecticut

1. What makes you guys randomly perform old songs such as "Sister" at Toad's in '06 - can we expect more goodies in the future?

2. What's the band's favorite 'small' venue to play at?

3. If State Radio could open for any band (existing or no longer existing), who would it be?

and if more questions are allowed: Why no Baltimore shows? Loyola College wants State Radio!  Grin

I think it would be cool to ask some funny questions like in that Video of Dispatch I just posted in the video thread... like

"What were your friends and family saying as you told them to be the third time in europe in one year?"

"What was your craziest experience in your europe tours?"
or "Was there a experience here in europe you've never calculated with?" would be interesting to hear that from all three...

Something like that... and when I see that funny video of Stefan Raab and Kylie Minogue (just search for "kylie stefan raab" at youtube)... I think you should teach them "Mer lose de Dom in Kölle" or "Viva Colonia" so they learn a lil bit of our homeland! Smiley

Hey SR,

question:

Why is it that you play such a small set of songs (13-15) (Thats my experience from last year), you have such a big repertoire (well, that is counting in "peace between nations", "Flag of the Shiners" and some other songs like "Indian Moon"). Isnt it a waste to come over to europe and only play for a little bit more than an hour at each venue ?

Julian, from Argentina

1) For Chad: What is your oppinion about Cuban communism and "21st. century socialism" from Venezuela?

2) For the band: Would you consider adding another guitar player, since many studio songs are played with more than one guitar? (Still I think you sound great live)

3)For Mike and Chuck: What are your musical influences? (Chad always is asked this question)

Thanks and good luck with the interview!

P.S.: Three times in Europe in one year, maybe a South American tour would do you good!

Chris from Willow Grove, Pennsylvania

1) for chuck: What made you decide to leave Princes of Babylon and join up with SR?

2)What was the Reasoning for BSay leaving the Band.

3)Do you guys think that the crowd at some shows act too crazy and out of control or do you like that?
